Below are the images of a Ship being wrecked during the tsunami waves in Chennai on 26/12/2004. Sad to see the ship getting under the sand, as the waves of the sea day by day burying the ship. And also are the images of abandoned school, as the threat of the tsunami might affect the lives of the little ones. Thanks to dear friend Rakesh, in recommending this place.

    Tsunami memories ... still linger. Homage to those who lost loved ones and property. Kudos to those who came forward to rebuild olaces and livelihood. Sad that we had politicians who like vultures (eat dead meat) lived, swindled on what was due to those who lost.

Triumphant Labour Statue - Marina Beach

On 25th January 1959, the statue of “Triumph of Labour”  made by  the Sculptor Mr.Devi Prasad Roy Chowdri was declared open by Honble.Governor of Tamilnadu Shri.Bishnuram Medhi in the presence of Mr.K.Kamarajar, the Honble.Chief Minister of Tamilnadu. The Triumph Labour Statue depicts an inspiring posture of a team of labourers engrossed at an difficult work. The monument is symbolic of the human spirit that triumphs over adversities with united labour. The ‘Labour Statue was the first statue erected in Marina Beach. This is a labor statue, dedicated to the various laborers who work hard to build every nation.
