This popular folk dance is unique to Tamilnadu, India. People dress and dance in such a way that it looks like as if they ride a real horse. Poikkal kuthirai – the false horse dance is also called Puravai Attam.

Holy being celebrated in Chennai. I am not a big fan of the Holi Celebration but on this day wanted to capture the event. There were couple of times i did have an opportunity to take a pic, but i kept missing the opportunity. My aim was to take the shady part of this road, because i do like this road for its tress on both the sides. This shot is a lucky one never planed, never intended to take one like this. But all of a sudden this guy came in the cycle with the colour on his face. Wow i said this is luck.

 

 
Adyar Bridge sun sen. This picture is kind of close to me because of the time that i spent in taking the sun set. Sun Set is always my favorite. I  like the sepia tint which appears before the  sun goes down. Talking about the pic, is that is picture taken on the bridge where the sewage water flows beneath the bridge. Stood their for close to 30 min eagerly waiting for the sun to go down. Stood bearing the smell and the flies & mosquitoes. In the end i was happy to capture the pic & to my knowledge it did come out very well.

Triumphant Labour Statue - Marina Beach

On 25th January 1959, the statue of “Triumph of Labour”  made by  the Sculptor Mr.Devi Prasad Roy Chowdri was declared open by Honble.Governor of Tamilnadu Shri.Bishnuram Medhi in the presence of Mr.K.Kamarajar, the Honble.Chief Minister of Tamilnadu. The Triumph Labour Statue depicts an inspiring posture of a team of labourers engrossed at an difficult work. The monument is symbolic of the human spirit that triumphs over adversities with united labour. The ‘Labour Statue was the first statue erected in Marina Beach. This is a labor statue, dedicated to the various laborers who work hard to build every nation.
